Representing The Bronx and Queens in New York in the House of Representatives, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the age of 29 is a force to be reckoned with.
Taylor Swift who just released her eighth studio album last night at midnight, and is only two months younger than Alexandria, is also a force for good in our world.
These two women are also the same age as my brilliant and beautiful oldest daughter Nina who is an inspiration for me every day.
My Ava is only eighteen months younger but is also gearing up to be just as fierce and bold a flame by the time she's thirty.
These young women.
Raised in a different time, raised with a perspective I couldn't have had.
My God how wonderful to see them shine!
I don't care what you think of their politics or their hemlines, their confidence or their boldness.
These women are everything I hoped I could help the next generation of women become.
As a mother, as an artist, as a heterosexual female, as an older woman, I know how hard it is to be them.
And they are my hope for the future of the world.
This new generation of women are poised to save us all.
They have what it takes.
Yesterday was quite a day with what Alexandria went through and with the release of Taylor's beautiful new triumph of an album at midnight last night.
I salute these women, and my daughters, and all young women everywhere around the globe changing history, forcing the men to change.
Also, they must battle the older women who hold onto old ideas of womanhood and manhood.
These young women are up against it from all sides and they're rising above!
Support them if you can, if you dare.
Watch them shine!
