I'm grateful this morning.
Gratitude is stronger than hate or fear.
Gratitude conquers all.
Do you think so?
I sure hope so.
I have a lot to be grateful for and only debts to be afraid of.
If my financial debts are my only problem in this life right now then I have a lot to be grateful for.
And the best way to have your circumstances straighten out in a positive way is to have a positive outlook.
I love the way I spend my days.
Yesterday at rehearsal I complained about playing the street show earlier in the morning.
Maybe pulling a red wagon full of PA equipment down the busiest street in a city isn't your idea of fun...or success....either.
I mean, it's really not my idea of a great music career.
But when I was sort of jokingly complaining about it, I realized that the person I was complaining to in my band is a teacher for special needs students in the public schools as his day job.
And his tasks I'm sure are very arduous.
And I got paid $50 an hour to do my singing on the street and it was a very nice sunny day outside.
It may not be a sign of success to be playing street shows, but it's not that bad of a way to earn money.
So, I'm grateful I have had that opportunity.
I've had that opportunity all this summer and it has seen me through.
The next things I do are all about gratitude too.
I get to go to Ely.
I get to go on tour in Europe.
I love my family.
I love living in Minneapolis and I'm glad I'm here.
Tonight I get to play at 7th Street Entry, the side room at First Avenue, with a touring band I really admire.
They have a record deal with New West Records.
I'm looking forward to the whole experience.
If you're in town, come if you can!
