faint sense of Spring

There's the faintest sense of Spring this morning at Rob's house.

The sky is clear and the Sun's presence has a tiny bit brighter feel.

It's Minnesota, so Spring won't come until April..or May.

But January was less harsh than many Minneapolis January's so maybe Spring is coming early.

My birthday is February 13th.

Even as a child in Chicago I always felt that Valentine's Day and my birthday started the feeling of Spring.

Wearing pale pink, passing out Valentines.

This year I'll be putting on my Valentine's Day concert in Ely, MN wearing pale pink and passing out Valentines to everyone.

I can't wait!

Last night I went to my scholarship film writing class and I loved it so much.

I thought that everything about it was so stimulating.

The only thing that isn't great is that I had a brownie and a cappuccino in the late afternoon while doing my taxes and I was sort of overly enthusiastic and I talked too much.

I'm never going to do that again.

Next week at the class I'm going to apologize for talking too much.

But I got an idea for a screen play that I'm going to begin as soon as my taxes are completed.

I'm going to try to make a story based on my trip down to New Orleans.

I don't know whether it will work or not.

Maybe going to a folk music conference isn't an entertaining enough concept.

Quite possibly not.

But there are some characters worth pursuing.

I don't know but it's worth a shot.

At least it's new for me, it's a different exercise in creativity, I do love to tell stories, and I love love love New Orleans.

Today I hope to complete my taxes.

Tonight I play a little songwriter showcase at a place called Unmapped Brewing in Minnetonka.

We'll see how that goes.

Tomorrow I return for one show only to the Bistro where I used to play weekly.

I'm going to make a toast to my little Aidan and to his beautiful contribution to all of our lives.

I'll have my new t shirts, the black ones, plus a whole set of ten new handwritten books.

I'll have the acclaimed Ruby CDs and books.

I'll have plenty of copies of my Sidney book.

And the best version of High Priestess And The Renegade is back in print.

And the new Songs From The Open Road.

And Rob gave me a bunch of copies of Sufi Line he found in his studio!

So, a very good merch table to be sure!

Now I just have to replace the batteries in my "Courtney Yasmineh Stuff" lightbox.

Okay, taxes, here I come.

Love to you this almost feeling like Spring day!
