guidance is helping

I have been receiving guidance from trusted advisors and it's helping.

One thing is to let the album speak for itself now in Europe.

Then try to get the album more support in the US when the Europe tour is over.

Will I be able to do it?

I don't know.

If you say what you want, and you love it and desire it and put all your heart and feeling into it, then await the evidence of it's arrival, you are following the guidance of the Universe instead of forcing things to go the way of your limited vision.

I want this album to be loved.

I love it.

I want everyone else to hear it and love it who might be lifted up by it in some way.

I am not a record label, and even record labels have albums that don't sell well.

The Universe and God are my record label this time.

And I have trusted advisors who have good instincts and varying perspectives, different from my own.

I want what I want but I can't say how to get there.

I don't know.

But day by day this pathway clears since first I learned to love it.

So the path will be laid plain and I will follow.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Do you believe that too?

I have a feeling that's all we've got and that's all we ever had.

Love to you today.

Let your dream unfold, don't work against it with your plotting and planning.

Let go, let God.

Also, this is the t shirt design.

Black shirt or white?

Maybe some black and some in white.

now what? bungee jumping into the great unknown

The world is opening up wide for me, so where to turn next?

So many paths diverge in the wood!

How to choose?

Let my inner guide lead me.

Let my connection to The Great Spirit take over.

How the hell do you do that?

I think you close your eyes more often and click your ruby slippers together more often and chant "there's no place like home" more often.

That oughta do it.

Truly.

Focus on your heart's desire and your connection to the great Unknown and the Universe will rise up to meet you.

That's what I'm doing.

good news!

The good news is that I get to open for this cool band the Seratones that is coming to play at 7th Street Entry which is the small room at First Avenue, the famous club where Prince used to play in Minneapolis.

It's a young woman named AJ Haynes and her bandmates.

She has had this same band since she was in high school with these guys in a small town in Alabama.

They still live there, but now they just got a record deal with New West Records (my favorite label) so they're on the road.

She has taught creative writing like I did.

She's nearly thirty years old now and she's finally getting a bigger audience.

I'm so excited to see her perform!

But I get to open the show!!!!!!!

I feel this is a good omen.

new music video is out

Okay! So Excited about this!

The first music video for my new album came out on youtube last night.

More people have watched it in the first 24 hours than any other video I've ever put out.

Also, more people have liked it in the first 24 hours.

Also, no one so far has given it the thumbs down.

Also, some people have written very nice enthusiastic comments.

So far so good!

I like everything about this new video series....the recordings sound great, the locations are wonderful, Nina's videography is very lovely and makes me look good too I think.

I like my hair and the clothes I wore.

I love the songs.

I wish I had written them all, but at least my song Married To Bob is in the mix and there's a video for that one coming up!

I watched a documentary about Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt.

They talked a lot about being a good songwriter but they all sang many songs written by other people too.

I'm okay with that.

All in all I could not be happier about where this new project is heading.

Smiles all around!

The video is at the top of the video page on this website and it's also on the top of the home page as well right now so please take a moment to watch and I hope you like it!

rolling along

I'm rolling right along this weekend.

I played my vineyard show yesterday afternoon and sold five copies of my novel and many cds.

I sang for three hours straight and only took a five minute break because I really wanted to keep singing since there were people listening.

It was fun and I felt happy the whole time.

I went to see my daughter Nina's new band play last night and that was wonderful too.

She's really great as a songwriter and singer.

She isn't playing an instrument at all in this band even though she plays guitar and keyboard/piano quite well.

It makes her seem more dramatic in her vocalizing when she doesn't have to pay attention to playing an instrument too.

It was great.

I have today off, so I'm going to ride my bicycle and get the Sunday New York Times.

Pretty soon now, maybe even this week, they'll have their Fall Fashion insert and I love that.

I live for Fall Fashion.

I don't care if that's stupid.

I do.

Also, my new music video is ready.

OMG.

I have to decide if I'm going to go around all next week doing a bunch of ass kissing to get one of the self important gate keepers of the local or national music scene to premiere my music video, thus anointing my new project with their approval.

They all always have us poor artists clamoring at their feet trying to get our stuff on their blogs.

Lame.

I have a feeling I've already decided.

I'm probably just going to put it up on Youtube and make a big deal about it myself and then be grateful for anyone and everyone who shares it or likes it and if it's really great it'll grow by itself.

That's probably where I'm at.

Either way, I'm making progress and rolling along.

Happy Sunday to ya.

Put something sexy on, get out there, and enjoy the last of your summer.
